VNX: Unable to add a server into NIS using server_nis using hostname (User Correctable)

Symptoms
Customer reporting following error when attempting to add NIS server to server configuration using hostname,
Same issue reports when using FQDN
[nasadmin@Bamba_CS0 ~]$ server_nis server_2 -add global nishostname
server_2 :
Error 2100: server_2 : At least one IP address is required
CS man pages outlines that IP or hostname can be used.
[-add] <domainname>
{<hostname>|<ip_addr>}[,{<hostname>|<ip_addr>},...} ]
Cause
/nas/log/cmd_log will report the following:
2017-08-16 13:44:03.053 server_2:523:27301:S: server_nis server_2 -add global nisserver.prem.nas.unified
2017-08-16 13:44:03.155 server_2:523:27301:E: server_nis server_2 -add global nisserver.prem.nas.unified: An invalid server address has been specified.
Output of server_log:
2017-08-16 13:44:03: 13158121479: NETLIB: 3: An invalid server address has been specified.
Issue is the man pages are incorrect.
The Configuring naming service guide for 7.1 and 8.1 outlines
To configure a Data Mover as an NIS client, use this command syntax:
$ server_nis <movername> <domainname> {<ip_addr>,...}

Resolution
Engineering has confirmed that you cannot use hostsname to add NIS server to server configuration.
server_nis can only accept IP address(es)
server_nis can only accept IP address(es)
