Symptoms
Here is an example of the BTIlog entry:
Cause
There is a problem in the Mainframe Data Library, virtuent code when an expiration date is set for today, indicating no retention date should be set. The virtuent does not honour this request and instead sets the retention date as defined by the DD back end.
Resolution
This issue is addressed in a later release of DLm code.
Workaround:
Workaround:
- Use a YEAR/DATE option = 2022/0 (meaning there is no such date) then NO retention date set.
- Use a DATE option = 1 (set to minimum retention period) the 1-day retention date is set.
