No Sound from External Monitor’s Speaker Connected to Precision 3660 Tower

Symptoms
The audio may not be available through the monitor’s speaker when connected to the NVIDIA ports. The NVIDIA device, High Definition (HD) Audio Device, or HD Audio Controller may show a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager. This yellow exclamation mark shows the following error message: This device is blocked from starting while the user is not logged in (code 55).

Cause
NVIDIA Graphics card audio driver does not support Direct Memory Access (DMA).
Resolution
Updating to BIOS version 2.11.1 or later on the computer resolves the issue. To download and install the BIOS, reference BIOS Update Guide.
