Instructions
CAUTION: THERE IS NO WAY TO RESET OR RECOVER A LOST UNISPHERE FOR POWERMAX PASSWORD (SMC) or VAPP MANAGER PASSWORD.
THE ONLY WAY TO LOGIN BACK INTO UNISPHERE FOR POWERMAX AS WELL AS VAPP MANAGER IS BY RE-INSTALLING IT.

- For Standalone set up (Windows/Linux): Re-install the Unisphere for PowerMax by using appropriate exe/bin file. This can be done by customers. (vApp Manager is not applicable for Standalone Windows or Linux setup).
- For Embedded Unisphere for PowerMax (eMgmt): Support will re-install the GOS containers. Raise a case with Dell Technologies PowerMax support team with the correct array ID and allow TSE to re-install the GOS containers. TSE saves appropriate performance database backup (if any).
- For Unisphere for PowerMax Virtual Appliance - Re-deploy the vApp using correct ova file. This can be done by customers.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Save the available performance database backup files (if any) before re-installation. This is in .dat format.
- If performance database backups were not taken, then performance data is lost during re-installation.
- While re-installing the eMgmt/GOS containers, support saves performance database backup files (if any).
