Cisco MDS 9250I IPStorage port stuck in Initializing state
Summary: After ip switch maintenance, the adjacent MDS IPS port for fcip may be stuck in an initializing state.

Symptoms
Symptom 1: show interface command shows the port in an initializing state, even after replacing cables and sfps, resetting the interface, etc. Port even shows in an initializing state while the cable is unplugged.
IPStorage1/2 is down (Initializing)<<<<<<<
Hardware is IPStorage, address is cc16.7e0e.2904
Internet address is 10.15.243.72/26
MTU 1500 bytes
Port mode is IPS
Cause
Cisco bug id CSCvw08348: MDS 9250i IPStorage port stuck into Initializing state
Resolution
Reset the IPstorage port at the ASIC controlling it (octeon)
#ips reset module <1> port X
example: #ips reset module 1 port 1
This could bring down the other IPS port as well depending upon the ASIC architecture. Please plan a maintenance window for all the IPS ports on the module/switch to reset when the command is run.
