Instructions

Goals
FASTVP feature on a VMAX allows data block auto promotion and demotion to different tier or thin pool within FASTVP policy. Often times data blocks are spread out to multiple thin Pools because of FASTVP/ Auto-tiering.
The user needs to determine how data blocks are distributed across thin pools for provisioning, charge-back purpose, performance troubleshooting, etc.

This article will explain how to determine Lun / TDEV data block allocation by LUNID, Storage Group, or all the LUNS / TDEVs.
