NVP vProxy: How to Change the Time Zone of the vProxy Appliance

Instructions
Change the time zone used by the vProxy appliance with the Linux command:
timedatectl
- Connect to the vProxy appliance over SSH, log in as the
adminuser. - Switch to the
rootuser account:
sudo su -
- Enter the below command to get the current time zone settings:
timedatectl
Example:
vproxy01:~ # timedatectl
Local time: Fri 2024-01-12 18:06:58 UTC
Universal time: Fri 2024-01-12 18:06:58 UTC
RTC time: Fri 2024-01-12 18:06:58
Time zone: UTC (UTC, +0000)
Network time on: no
NTP synchronized: no
RTC in local TZ: no
- Enter the following command to show which time zone the system's "
localtime" is linked to:
ls -l /etc/localtime
Example:
vproxy01:~ # ls -l /etc/localtime lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 25 Jan 12 18:05 /etc/localtime -> ../usr/share/zoneinfo/UTC
- Enter the following command to get a list of the available time zone settings:
timedatectl list-timezones
- Enter the below command to change the time zone:
timedatectl set-timezone ZONE
Example:
vproxy01:~ # timedatectl set-timezone America/New_York vproxy01:~ #
- Confirm the changes with the commands from steps 3 and 4:
vproxy01:~ # timedatectl
Local time: Fri 2024-01-12 13:11:39 EST
Universal time: Fri 2024-01-12 18:11:39 UTC
RTC time: Fri 2024-01-12 18:11:39
Time zone: America/New_York (EST, -0500)
Network time on: no
NTP synchronized: yes
RTC in local TZ: no
vproxy01:~ # ls -l /etc/localtime
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 38 Jan 12 13:10 /etc/localtime -> ../usr/share/zoneinfo/America/New_York
- Reboot the appliance when there are no backup or recover tasks running on the vProxy:
reboot
