Symptoms

A Dell Display and Peripheral Manager (DDPM) CLI set command may change webcam settings on multiple Dell Pro P series monitors simultaneously.

This issue occurs under the following conditions:

  • Dell Display and Peripheral Manager (DDPM) is installed on the computer.
  • The computer is connected to multiple Dell Pro P series monitors with integrated webcams.
  • A DDPM CLI set command is issued for a webcam-related setting.

An example command where this issue might be experienced is DDPM.exe /set -Display=Webcam_hdr -value=on -SerialNumber=<SerialNumber>

Note: <SerialNumber> = The serial number of the device

The CLI set command applies the setting to all connected and supported Dell Pro P series monitors instead of only the monitor with the specified serial number.

Affected Software:

  • Dell Display and Peripheral Manager (versions 2.2.1.16 and 2.2.0.18)

Affected Monitors:

  • Dell Pro P 24 USB-C Hub Conferencing Monitor P2426HEB
  • Dell Pro P 24 USB-C Hub Webcam Monitor P2426HEV
  • Dell Pro P 27 USB-C Hub Conferencing Monitor P2726DEB
  • Dell Pro P 27 USB-C Hub Webcam Monitor P2726DEV
  • Dell Pro P 34 USB-C Hub Conferencing Monitor P3426WEB
  • Dell Pro P 34 USB-C Hub Webcam Monitor P3426WEV

Cause

Different DDPM components use different handling logic for integrated webcams and external webcams. Because of this behavior mismatch, the CLI set command may not correctly isolate the target device when multiple supported displays are connected.

Resolution

Long-term Solution:

The engineering department is working on a fix to be released in Dell Display and Peripheral Manager version 2.2.2.X. The updated Dell Display and Peripheral Manager version is posted to the Dell Display and Peripheral Manager Dell Support page once it is made available. Dell Display and Peripheral Manager is expected to be released in the middle of June 2026.

Workaround:

Disconnect and reconnect the target display monitor, then issue the CLI command again when applying a different webcam setting.
