Symptoms


The Data Domain Client Deduplication Ratio report does not contain any data once generated even when the Data Domain Processor Tool was successfully run.
 

Cause

The dd_scanner command was run against the IP address of the Data Domain instead of using the hostname as appears in DPA UI.
 

Resolution

The procedure for running the dd_scanner tool in the 'Running Data Domain DataProcessor' section of the 'Installation and Administration Guide' contains the following for step 4:
 

To connect to the Data Domain and generate an input file for later analysis, run

> dd_scanner.bat <datadomain_host> <username>

where username is the Data Domain user with Admin role rights and datadomain_host is the name of the Data Domain object as it appears in the DPA > Inventory > Object Library > Storage tab.
