Symptoms
The NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) integration is configured with the vProxy Appliance. The vProxy Appliance was deployed and the NetWorker Management Console (NMC) is being used to register the vProxy. The NMC Log pane shows:
Unable to register NSR VMware proxy <My_vProxy> libCURL: function "curl_easy_perform" returned error 28: "Connection timed out after 90000 milliseconds"
The NetWorker Server daemon.raw shows:
MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS nsrd NSR info VM proxy Warning: Unable to register NSR VMware proxy '<My_vProxy>': libCURL: function "curl_easy_perform" returned error 28: "Connection timed out after 90001 milliseconds" MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS nsrd NSR info VM proxy Info: Initiating registration of NSR VMware proxy '<My_vProxy>' MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS nsrd NSR info VM proxy Warning: Unable to register NSR VMware proxy '<My_vProxy>': libCURL: function "curl_easy_perform" returned error 28: "Connection timed out after 90001 milliseconds"
Cause
The NetWorker server is not able to connect to the vProxy appliance over TCP port 9090.
Resolution
Ensure that the environment networking allows the NetWorker Server to reach the vProxy over port 9090.
Windows (PowerShell): tnc VPROXY_NAME -p 9090
Linux: curl -kv VPROXY_NAME:9090
The vProxy appliance must also communicate with port 9090 on the NetWorker server:
curl -kv NETWORKER_ADDRESS:9090
If these connections fail, consult with your networking/VMware team regarding this port communication.
