Symptoms
Running a full scan using a CAVA Server on a Dell Unity file system stops after a time.
Command used over SSH:
svc_cava <NAS_Server> -fsscan /<file_system> -create/pre>
The scan can stop within two minutes, or it can take up to two hours. There is not an exact time for this issue to occur.
The Unity administrator sees these alerts:
aborted by operator. xxxxx directories were scanned and xxxxx files were submitted to the scan engine. borted by operator. xxxxx directories were scanned and xxxxx files were submitted to the scan engine. xxxxx directories were scanned and xxxxx files were submitted to the scan engine
Cause
Endpoint Security (ENS) with support for CAVA is required. ENS has support for CAVA.
CEE and CAVA are frameworks running on a Windows platform. The framework enables third-party antivirus engines to scan files that are stored on a Dell Celerra, VNXe, VNX, Unity, or VMAX eNAS and NAS array.
Resolution
The CAVA switch is required to install ENS with support for CAVA. For details on how to install the above, see McAfee Technical Article ID: KB88973.
