Symptoms
The process to integrate Avamar and Data Domain fails with error:
error Error initializing lsuInspecting the
/ddvar/log/debug/ddfs.info file shows the following error:
"tid 0x7f11ee607c20): WARNING: MSG-NFS-00008: Rejecting NFS/TCP request from 10.102.183.249/<unknown> (disabled)!"
Cause
DD Boost only works over NFSv3, DD Boost does not use NFSv4. NFSv3 must be enabled.
- When checking Network File System (NFS) status on the Data Domain, it is enabled but only for v4:
sysadmin@DD# nfs status The NFS system is currently active and running. Total number of NFS requests handled = 1107. NFS server version(s) 4 enabled.
- When checking NFS status on the Data Domain:
sysadmin@DD# nfs status The NFS system is currently not active. Total number of NFS requests handled = 1815.
Resolution
Enable NFSv3 protocol on Data Domain to successfully integrate Avamar and Data Domain.

Additional Information
NFSv3 uses additional ports that are also required by DD Boost. Ports 111, 2049, and 2052 should be open and available.
The NFSv3 services activate all the required daemons that use these ports enabling successful Avamar and Data Domain integration.
