Instructions

Triggering Permanent Site Outage (PSO), Temporary Site Outage (TSO), and Remove a VDC from a Replication Group in ECS are covered in the ECS Administration guide. See the guide corresponding to your ECS code version after reviewing the below requirements:

  • For "PSOs" and "Remove VDC from a Replication Group":
    • ECS code should be at ECS 3.8.1.4 and above.
    • If ECS is running on a lower code version and we cannot upgrade in a timely manner, then a special patch can be provided to perform the "PSO" or "Remove a VDC from a Replication Group" operations.
    • Open an “Operating Environment Upgrade” Service Request (SR) to upgrade your VDC, or to request Services to apply the special patch from Engineering.
  • For “TSO”:
    • The version of ECS code should be minimum ECS 3.8.0.x. If ECS is running on a lower code version, then upgrade before performing "TSO".
    • Open an “Operating Environment Upgrade” Service Request (SR) to upgrade your VDC. The recommendation is to upgrade to Target Code or newer.
