Symptoms
An unexpected single or dual Storage Processor (SP) reboot may occur in certain Dell Unity systems, particularly those running Unity OE version 5.0.2 or earlier.
Cause
Unity uses MMAP to map files or devices into memory to initiate I/O. There is a maximum virtual memory count of mappings of 65530 set on the system. A panic occurs on the Storage Processor (SP) once the MMAP maximum value is consumed and has reached that maximum value.
Resolution
This issue is addressed in Unity OE 5.0.3.0.4.014.
