Symptoms

The installer fails right away with a popup stating:
  
The Application has Unexpectedly Quit
Invocation of this Java Application has caused an InvocationTargetException. 
This application will now exit. (LAX)

Cause

An issue related to the use of Install Anywhere by AppSync 4.5 base.

Resolution

Workaround:

Per page 4 of the AppSync 4.5 release notes, on the Windows 2022 Server the AppSync Server is installed on:

Create the SYSTEM VARIABLE:
 
JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS

Including the double quotes, provide the following value:
 
 "-Dos.name=Windows Server 2019"
 
The System Variable should appear as so on the host:
Element Variables

Ensure that the changes are saved. No need for reboot. Simply restart the AppSync Server installer.
