PowerStore: PowerStore Manager reports ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH following NDU

Summary: PowerStore Manager access reports the error ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH on the client browser.

Symptoms

After a successful completion of a PowerStoreOS upgrade, an attempt to access PowerStore Manager to the affected cluster fails with browser error ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH.

The following error may be seen when trying to reset the certificate:

[SVC:root@xxx-B user]$ pstcli -ssl accept -u admin -d self x509_certificate reset_certificates -service Management_HTTP
Password (for host self):
Unable to validate remote server certificate.

Cause

The nodes internal communication process has failed to sync the local database file to the peer node. This issue may then be exposed during NDU when the Control Path (CP) process moves to the peer node (as the secondary node becomes the primary).

Resolution

This issue is planned to be fixed in a future PowerStoreOS release.

Workaround

This issue is detected by user_db_fewer_records Pre-Upgrade Health Check (PUHC). For further details on this PUHC and the steps to workaround this issue, see KB# 000263789 PowerStore: Pre upgrade health check (PUHC) to detect if necessary user.db entries are lost, or different between nodes
