Network Disconnection Issues on Intel Ethernet Connection I219-LM

Symptoms

The desktop shows a network icon with a warning sign, such as No Internet or Limited Access. The desktop is unable to connect to online services or use network resources. The Ethernet ports Light Emitting Diodes (LED)s may not light up or blink.

Cause

This issue may be related to the Auto Negotiation setting in the adapter configuration.

Resolution

Note: Before starting the update, perform the following:
  • Back up all personal data. For more information, refer to: Back Up and Recovery
  • Ensure that power remains connected while updates are being run.
  • Ensure that a wireless connection is available if a wireless local area network (WLAN) card is in the desktop.
  • Download the update file on another computer and transfer it using physical media to the desktop, if both a Local Area Network (LAN) and WLAN connection is unavailable.

Updating the Intel LAN driver to version 20.0.3.16 or later on the desktop resolves the issue. To download and install the driver, refer to the: Driver Update Guide
