MON0049: The activity was not updated for an extended period of time and has been canceled.
  • Failure consistently occurs during the Snapshot & Crawl phase.
  • The job fails at approximately the same Slice-Processed Byte count each time.

Cause

Error MON0049 indicates a timeout due to inactivity in the backup process. The consistent failure point suggests a possible issue with:

  • The previous backup copy
  • The NAS data itself
  • For PowerScale NAS appliances, a snapshot discrepancy may occur if ChangeFileList is enabled for the asset

Resolution
