1. What is a Snapshot?

A Snapshot from the ML6000 Tape Library is the logged information that consists of configuration data, status information, and trace logs for library components.

Trace logs collect problem data and provide support personnel with vital library information for troubleshooting and solving problems.


2. How-to Pull a Snapshot

Note: It is recommended that prior to logging into the Web Interface, ensure the browser Pop-Up Blocker has been disabled, and the Web Interface is listed as a Trusted Site.

Use the following as an example of how-to pull an ML6000 Snapshot:

  1. Log in to the Web Interface with the proper credentials (Default login: Admin/Password)

  2. Go to the Tools menu and select Capture Snapshot:

  3. From the Tools - Capture Snapshot menu, under the "Select Delivery Method:" Heading, choose the "Download the file using the browser" radio button and press Apply:

  4. Once the Snapshot has finished collecting, you get the option to Save or Cancel the log.
    Press Save. The file downloads and will appear as:

    For Example:
