Symptoms

Issue occurred:
We are getting the error while mounting the Tape volume:
Error on the NetWorker Administration

Load without mount is working fine on the volume.

 

Cause

Configuration:

  1. Tape Library:
    Name: STK@12.0.0
    Tape devices:
    /dev/nst8
    /dev/nst9
    /dev/nst10
    /dev/nst11

  2. Pool:
    We have NOT selected any Tape device/drive from the respective Tape library in the pool's selection criteria
    Media Pool Properties - tape

 

Resolution

Resolution:

  1. Select at least one of the tape devices in the pool from the respective Tape Library:
    Selecting tape devices on the Media Pool Properties

  2. Now try to mount the tape volume:
    Mount the tape volume on the NetWorker Administration
