switch: Switch-PR

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IPStorage1/1             swFailure  172.xx.xxx.xxx/24  10 Gbps  1500  --

switch: Switch-DR

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Interface                Status     IP Address        Speed    MTU   Port Channel
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IPStorage1/1             up         10.xx.xxx.xx/30    10 Gbps  2300  --

Cause

The MTU is not identical on both switches. This parameter must be identical on both sides.
  • The default IP maximum transmission unit (MTU) frame size is 1500 bytes for all Ethernet ports.
  • The MTU is 1500 on switch 'Switch-PR', but it is 2300 on the peer switch 'Switch-DR'.

Resolution

Change the MTU so as both ends have identical MTU values.

For example:
Run the below commands to change the MTU to 1500 on switch Switch-DR.
configure terminal
interface IPStorage1/1
switchport mtu 1500
To recover software failure, reload the affected FCIP engine using the following hidden command:
switch# ips reset module port

Note: This command is disruptive to all FCIP tunnels on the switch.

If the port still did not come up, a switch reboot is required.
