Instructions
Since ePSA diagnostics are not included on OSM installed servers, a bootable ePSA image must be downloaded and booted to when system diagnostics must be performed. The ePSA diagnostic image (psa.img - in the self-extracting Windows archive file epsa4303A20.exe) is available for download on the R670/R770 eSupport site: ePSA for R670 or ePSA for R770
There are two ways to use the downloaded ePSA diagnostic image.
Option 1:
1. Download the image from the link above.
2. Extract the image from the Windows epsa4303a20.exe self-extracting archive file.
3. Utilize a third-party utility to make a bootable image. (Like "Rufus," "imgburn," and so on)
4. Utilize the "Boot Manager" to boot to the USB.
5. Run the diagnostics.
Option 2
- Utilize OSM Virtual media to boot the image directly using the following steps:
- Open the OSM URL
https://XX.XX.XX.XX/for the BMC IP of the system in a browser and log in. - Select the Operations->Virtual Media->Add File option and browse to the psa.img file, select Open, and then Start to mount and activate the virtual media
- Select the Operations->Server Power Operations->Reboot option to reboot the server
- Select the Operations->KVM option and then press F11 to enter BIOS Boot Manager
- Select the One-shot UEFI Boot Menu option. Then select "vFlash Media File_Stor_Gadget" to boot to the virtual media that was mapped in step 2
