Firmware upgrade.

The following error message is encountered when upgrading FOS on a chassis based switch.  
Firmware download failed on standby CP - Failed to validate firmware signature. (0x3e)
RAS logs: 
[SULB-1011], 374, SLOT 5 | CHASSIS, INFO,Firmwaredownload command failed. Failed to validate firmware signature

Resolution

  • Ensure that there is an Ethernet connection to both the Active and Standby CP management ports.
  • Ensure that the IP addresses for both CPs and the chassis are all in the same subnet.
  • Ensure also that you can ping the Active IP address, Standby IP address, and Chassis IP address.
