Symptoms

When changing the smart HDR gaming options on the gaming tab the monitor will display a black screen temporarily after switching between smart HDR modes.

Affected Platforms:

  • Dell 32 4K UHD Gaming Monitor G3223Q
  • Dell 32 Gaming Monitor G3223D
  • AW3423DWF

Cause

It takes time for the monitor refresh while switching between the modes. The monitor will first display a black screen after the switch too apart from the blank option.

Resolution

The UI will be refreshed after monitor has completed the change.

  1. The settings will reflect after the settings are applied no further action is required.
  2. You can only make further changes in the settings after the UI has been updated with the latest information.
