Symptoms

Servers being updated using various image types exported from DRM may fail to find any applicable firmware or driver updates on a Windows host. DRM can export image types such as "Smart Bootable ISO," "SUU ISO," or "Smart Deployment Scripts"

Cause

The image containing a Catalog.xml file that is zero KB in file size causes this issue. Which is root-caused to a slight change in the Catalog schema starting in June 2024 in which the new attributes were not handled correctly and caused the custom Catalog to fail to export.

Resolution

Dell Engineering has reverted to the previous schema until upcoming DRM 3.5 fixes the export issue.

Indexed (archived) Enterprise Catalogs released between v2024.06.07 and v2024.08.12 still contain the new schema that can cause this export issue.

However, if a prior catalog is required to create a Windows DUP repository with drivers, then manually remove the Chipset Driver DUP. Download the required Chipset Driver DUP from https://www.dell.com/support/ and manually import the chipset DUP into your repository using the "Import" option.
