Additional Information regarding setup where this issue was seen:
vCenter version: 6.7
SRM version: 8.1
SRA version: 9.2.0
SE version: 9.2.1 client installed on SRM
SYMAPI Server: Embedded Managed Array with SE 9.2.1

Cause

The symapi session could not be initialized from the SRM Client to the SYMAPI server due to the error:

"The trusted host file disallowed a client server connection"

This means that the SYMAPI server's "nethost" file is incorrectly configured or not configured at all. The trusted host file is also known as "nethost" file.

Error found in EmcSrdfSra.log:

[07/26 09:50:59.104  8768   155 SymapiSession::Init             ] [ERROR]: Failed to perform SymInit().
[ERROR]: [SYMAPI_C_HOST_FILE_REJECTION : The trusted host file disallowed a client server connection]
.
[07/26 09:50:59.104  8768    33 SymapiSession::SymapiSession    ] [ERROR]: Failed to initialize Symapi session

Error found in storsrvd.log on the SYMAPI Server:

<Error> [7564             SESS 0125] Jul-25 14:09:46.372 : ANR0018E Rejecting session 125 for dell_user@dellemc123.abc.def.com (::ffff:111.222.333.444): The trusted host file disallowed a client server connection

The session from the SRM Client to the SYMAPI server was rejected as the user dell_user and or the host FQDN dellemc123.abc.def.com did not have access to the SYMAPI server. The access should be provided using nethost file in the SYMAPI server. This error mostly occurs when the SYMAPI server is a Virtual Appliance or Embedded Management.

Resolution

Review logs and confirm this issue and proceed with the below resolution:
Add/Configure the nethost file in the SYMAPI server with the Host FQDN/IP and User in the below format:

<Host FDQN> <user>
<IP> <user>

For example:

dellemc123.abc.def.com dell_user
111.222.333.444 dell_user
