Symptoms
On a large-scale setup having a large number of File Systems (approximately: 125) under replication session with snapshot configured on File systems:
- When snapshot rule is deleted by selecting option to delete snapshots associated with it, the error
"com.emc.cyclone.messages.sdnas.Errors: SDNAS get request failed. Status code: 429 Status message"is displayed.

- An alert is raised 0x0130090B SDNAS_FS_STATE_SNAP_DELETE_PARTIALLY_FAILED with the alert text: Snap %(fsname) in NAS server %(vdmname) partially failed delete. The object is likely no longer fully usable and can only be deleted.
- The snapshot rule was deleted successfully, but the snapshots that were created by the snapshot rule were only partially deleted.
- Many errors were raised, similar to:
"Snap 30min_fs_5222_13_2023-03-13T12:34:35Z_375426026 in NAS server nas_5222_1 partially failed delete. The object is likely no longer fully usable and can only be deleted."
Cause
Large scale set-up on system is causing this issue. When snap rule is deleted by selecting delete associated snapshots, it sends a large number of rest requests to SDNAS making it fail with status code 429 (Too many requests) error.
During this large number of events related to replication, snapshot workflows are generated. Event framework was not able to handle all the influx of events within single cycle causing some of the events not handled which were supposed to delete snapshots.
