How to add an upgrade order to your existing Data Domain license
Summary: This article details how to add an upgrade order to your existing Data Domain license.
Instructions
Pre-requisite:
External users who require access to the Dell Digital Locker or the Software Licensing Central (SLC) should register for a Support Account on Dell Support. Internal users who require access to the Software Licensing Central (SLC) should submit a MyAccess Ticket Internally.
For information about activating Data Domain licenses in SLC, see article PowerProtect Data Domain License Activation
For information about activating Data Domain Virtual Edition licenses in SLC, see article Data Domain Virtual Edition License Activation
When activating an upgrade or expansion order in Software Licensing Central (SLC), ensure to select the Machine or Locking ID of the existing license. Do not create a new machine as the license quantities do not combine.

If the user is unable to find the required machine, remove the product family listed under the Locking ID field and select search again.
Continue through the steps to complete the activation.
The Locking ID is prefilled upon selecting the existing machine.

Once the upgrade order activation is complete, the license file should show the combined quantity of the existing and upgrade capacity. The license certificate also shows information such as the existing and upgrade order.
For information about viewing Data Domain licenses and certificates in SLC, see article Viewing Data Domain Licenses and Certificates activated from Transformational License Agreements (TLA)
For Transformational Licensing Agreements (TLA) upgrade orders, ensure to enter the upgrade capacity only as this combines with the exiting license once activated to the same Machine and Locking ID.
