To back up the directory structure of client folders without saving all the files inside these folders, follow these steps:
- Identify the directories that need to be backed up.
- Determine the specific conditions that require only the directory structure to be backed up.
The Avamar backup process involves excluding files within the directories. This can be achieved by using the --exclude option.
cat avtar.cmd
--exclude=/usr/local/avamar/*.*
--exclude=/usr/local/avamar/**/*.*
By using the --exclude option, you can preserve the directory hierarchy while excluding the files within the directories.
