Symptoms
VNX2 was upgraded to Bow River release 8.1.9.155.
nas_fsck log is showing error:
The error is gone after running nas_fsck, but will return once again after IO to the filesystem.
nas_fsck log is showing error:
FSTOOLS: 3: BAD SUPER BLOCK: VALUES IN SUPER BLOCK DISAGREE WITH THOSE IN FIRST ALTERNATE FSTOOLS: 3: TRYING TO RESTORE ... FSTOOLS: 3: SUPER BLOCK RESTORED FROM FIRST ALTERNATE
The error is gone after running nas_fsck, but will return once again after IO to the filesystem.
Cause
Issue was introduced by a new member in super block in Bow River release.
Resolution
These nas_fsck error messages can be ignored. The fix to address this is expected in a future VNX2 release.
