Symptoms

Add RPA using Deployment Manager.

Add RPA operation using Deplyment Manager fails with error:

"Illegal config settings. Changes cannot be made at the same time as RPA addition"

DM.log will show:
2019-05-14 18:35:43,518 [CommandWorker-53] (Command.java:88) ERROR - Command#run() ServerException errorType[ILLEGAL_CONFIG_SETTINGS] errorMessage[Illegal config settings. Changes cannot be made at the same time as RPA addition.] failure UID: e3b947ba-c1af-48cc-8f47-88b88ca7c6b7
com.kashya.installation.server.exceptions.CommandFailedException: Illegal config settings. Changes cannot be made at the same time as RPA addition.

Cause

The customer has changed any of the RPA network interfaces (LAN/WAN/Data) fro Auto negotiate enabled to disabled with manually setting speed.
Deployment Manager assumes Auto negotiate is enabled and sets speed to 100_Mhz by default.
So when it tries to apply the changes on the original RPAs, it tries to both add RPA and change the NIC parameters which is not supported.

Resolution

Workaround:
A solution exists for this issue but intervention from Dell EMC technical support personnel is required. TSE needs to check the settings on the RPA, compare the old and new config to identify changes, and possible set all NICs to auto-negotiate.  Contact the Dell EMC Customer Support Center or your service representative for technical assistance and reference this Dell EMC knowledgebase solution ID.

Resolution:
This issue is addressed in the RecoverPoint Deployment Manager 5.1.3.

Download latest Deployment Manager here and try to add the RPAs again.
