How to Find the Unique Identifier for Dell Monitors via Network Management Software

Instructions

Identifying the type of Dell Monitor can sometimes be problematic.  Most monitors will not have the usual service tag label but the information can be sourced alternatively. The Unique Identifier for can be found using the Service Tag or the PPID (Serial Number) of the Dell monitor.

Dell Monitor models with the last two digits of 19 or higher (i.e. P2419H)

The unique identifier will be the Service Tag of the Dell monitor.

Dell Monitor models with the last two digits of 18 or lower (i.e. P2417H)

The unique identifier will be the truncated 12 digit form of the 23 digit PPID (example: PPID :CN-07MT01-74261-6AI-39US-A03 is stored as 7MT016AI39US ).
