Resolution

To resolve this issue, set up the EME and Port Control System (PCS) policies. These settings allow you to burn an unencrypted optical drive, in formats other than universal disk format (UDF).

For version 7.1.2:

To set up these policies, follow these steps:

  1. Set EME Encrypt External media to true.
  2. Set EME Exclude CD/DVD Encryption to false.
  3. Set EME Access to un-Shielded media to Read-Only

To burn an optical drive with UDF:

  • A prompt appears, requesting that you encrypt the disk.
  • If you decline to encrypt with the above policy settings, you have "Read-Only" access to the optical drive.

If you have version 7.1.3 to 7.2.x, another policy becomes available:

  • Set CD/DVD Port Control to UDF Only

This setting forces the drive to write in UDF. All other modes are unavailable.

If you have version 7.3 or later, another policy becomes available:

  • Find the Port Control System (PCS) policy and set it to Full Access, Read Only, UDF Only (primary), or Block.
