Monitor Display Intermittently Flickers, V-line Issue, or Resolution Is Blurry
Summary: Monitor display intermittently flickers, V-line issue, or resolution is blurry.
Symptoms
The failure symptom improves if the user turns off the monitor for a couple of minutes then turns on again.
Cause
Vth is a measured value of the aging effect of the panel. Long time constant use accelerates Vth drift, resulting in the panel showing an abnormal display. A high Vth suggests a high level of aging.
Turning off can help Vth drift recover, but does not get Vth back to its initial states.
Resolution
Dell monitors are not designed for 24x7 operation. Follow the Dell monitor usage guidelines to Preserve Panel Life. The LCD panel duty cycle is designed for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. See the below link for guidelines:

- Implement screen savers to prevent image retention.
- Implement a power save mode to help extend the overall monitor and panel life.
Long time continuously running of the monitor without turning off accelerate the panel’s life cycle and induces unexpected issues.
User should turn off the monitor for 24 - 48 hours, then turn on to use again.
