MFE MIRO: MIRO statistics are incorrect when displayed or processing SMF records

Symptoms

The output of a DEV OPTIMIZE DISPLAY DEVICE is reporting PAVO statistics as the MIRO statistics incorrectly. The SMF record is also incorrect and the produced CSV file using the SMF Reporting Utility has incorrect MIRO statistics.

Cause

MIRO_RD and MIROWR fields (Read and Write) were not logged and the corresponding PAVO fields were inadvertently reported as MIRO values in the generated CSV file. A programming error improperly handled the table that controls the logging and reporting of Optimizer data for the handling both the MIR_RD, WIR_WR and related fields.                                                     

Resolution

Permanent Fix:
  • For Mainframe Enablers 8.4, PTF SR84107 has been developed to correct the issue. It is available to download from Dell EMC Online Support.
  • For Mainframe Enablers 8.5, PTF SR85017 has been developed to correct the issue. It is available to download from Dell EMC Online Support.
