Symptoms

NetWorker 19.9 linux server
NDMP backup was cloned to Cloud Tier.
NDMP restores from Cloud Tier failed with error: 
42795:nsrndmp_recover:ssid'1253670240': Performing recover from Non-NDMP type of device
42799:nsrndmp_recover:ssid'1253670240': Failed to query the address type of the NDMP data connection.
42871:nsrndmp_recover:ssid'1253670240': Error during File NDMP Extraction.
161310:ansrd: Unable to execute nsrclone to clone saveset '1253670240/1680916326' to target pool 'njpysd102_vrcrp10010_NDMP_BKP'. Error: No such file or directory

Cause

The data recovery process clones the data from the Cloud Tier to local DD Boost device and then recovers the data from the DD Boost device to target machine. The clone data is removed from the DD Boost device after seven days.

Resolution

Create a new DD Boost device in the storage node where the Cloud Tier device is and label the new DD Boost device to the original pool which was used for the data backup.
