Resolution
| Alert ID | XMS_NODE_FRU_FW_VERSION_STATE_MISMATCH_FW_VERSION |
| Alert Text | Node firmware is out of sync with the Operating System and could not be automatically updated. |
| Error Code | 0x0030E002 |
| Description | On every boot, the node firmware is checked to make sure it matches the expected version of the PowerStore OS. If the firmware is not up-to-date an alert is raised. Node firmware is included in the PowerStore OS image and is tested as a matched pair so it is important that the versions match. |
| Impact | The system is running with an unsupported node firmware and OS combination that may result in interoperability issues. |
| Resolution | Cause: This alert may be raised on a system running version 3.2 or later if the node hardware has been replaced with an older spare that has firmware that cannot be automatically upgraded during the replacement procedure. Solution: Contact Technical Support to have the firmware manually upgraded on the replacement node. User can check the node firmware version details using the svc_diag command. The example below shows a case where the alert will be raised – note that the firmware components have Upgrade Needed: Yes. A normal system should have Running Rev Repo Rev and Upgraded needed: No. Note: The user can ignore the 'unknown' and additional output is shown after the PFXSwitch line, the components of major concern are the BIOS/POST/BMC Main. $ svc_diag list --hardware --sub_options firmware
