AppSync: Registering a template failed after AppSync restored VMware datastore

Symptoms

AppSync completed to restore VMware datastore from a copy but AppSync failed register a template with the following error.

Virtual center service operation failed with an unknown error. Using the VI client, check the ESX servers for tasks and events, or alarms.

Cause

Appsync doesn't support template registration on a datastore restore.

Resolution

The template has to be manually registered after AppSync restored VMware datastore.
