ECS NFS wordt ondersteund op VMware-datastores. ECS gebruikt NFSv3 als de client dat goed ondersteunt, dan is de connectiviteit prima.

Het wordt echter niet aanbevolen om ECS NFS te gebruiken voor actieve VMware-workloads. Gebruik een share voor ISO-opslagplaatsen of -bestanden. Vermijd het plaatsen van VMDK's of andere zaken met zware I/O-vereisten op ECS NFS, omdat dit niet wordt aanbevolen.

ECS is hiervoor niet het beste gebruiksscenario in clusteromgevingen met hoge beschikbaarheid (HA) en Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) ingeschakeld.
