Symptoms

Affected Operating Systems:

  • Dell ThinOS 9.x

Smartcard does not redirect and is unavailable in the device manager or specific application inside VMware session.

Cause

Not Applicable

Resolution

Add the following key in the VMware Blast VDI configuration Editor under ThinOS 9.x policies.

usb.quirks.deviceX=0xvid:0xpid allow at /etc/vmware/config

Add usb.quirks.deviceX=0xvid:0xpid allow at /etc/vmware/config to Horizon Blast Key-Value

Reboot the thin client for the published policy to take effect.

Note: X = 3, 4, and so on (1 and 2 are assigned to the client computer by default).
