OneFS: Isilon Drive Support Package installation failed

Symptoms

The article describes how to work around a failure to install the Isilon Drive Support Package.

Installing Isilon Drive Support Package 1.x fails with the following output:
 

Cluster# isi_dsp_install /ifs/data/Isilon_Support/dsp/Drive_Support_v1.4.tar
Installed Drive_Support_v1.4
WARNING: /ifs/data/Isilon_Support/dsp/Drive_Support_v1.4.tar is not installed
ERROR: No logdata lines for 2015-03-23 10:25:13 or later
DSP Install Failed, 103.589804888 sec elapsed

 

Cause

This error is caused when a Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) package that' is installed on one of the nodes of the cluster.
 

Resolution

 Remedy for this issue is to remove FRU package from all nodes on the cluster.
 

  1. Confirm that there is a FRU package installed on at least one node of the cluster:
isi_for_array "isi pkg info --forced_local | grep IsiFru_Package"
  1. Remove the FRU package from all nodes:
isi_for_array "isi pkg delete --forced_local IsiFru_Package_<timestamp_from_step_1>"
  1. Install the Isilon Drive Support Package now:
isi_dsp_install Drive_Support_v<version>.tar
