Symptoms

 
Re-numbering the node LNN failed with below error:   
 
# isi config
>>lnnset <old-lnn-number> <new-lnn-number>
>>commit
Failed to commit changes: Error committing config: No Quorum]

Cause

After smartfailing the nodes that are intended to be removed from the cluster, the IB interface cables are still connected to smart failed nodes. This results in the removed nodes spamming the cluster. The smart failed nodes will still be broadcasting on the IB interface and making the cluster think that they are split from the cluster.

Resolution

Disconnect the backend IB cables for the smartfailed nodes and try re-numbering again.

Below commands works without an error:   
 
# isi config
>>lnnset <old-lnn-number> <new-lnn-number>
>>commit
