说明

  • Replication is supported on compressed LUNs / VMFS Datastores.
  • Native Synchronous and Asynchronous Replication are supported on compressed resources.
  • Local and remote replication are supported.

While Dell EMC Unity Compression is included in releases 4.1 and later, replication to / from systems which do not support compression is supported.
  1. When replicating from Dell EMC Unity 4.1 and later systems to any supported replication target which does not leverage compression (such as Dell EMC UnityVSA, Dell EMC Unity 4.0.X), the data is written uncompressed on the destination.
  2. When replicating to Dell EMC Unity 4.1 and later systems from any uncompressed source system, compression can be enabled or disabled on the destination.
  3. When replicating between Dell EMC Unity 4.1 and later systems, compression can be enabled on only the source, only the destination, or both the source and destination.

其他信息

  • Regardless of the replication method used (local, remote, synchronous, asynchronous), all replicated data is first uncompressed before being sent to the destination.
  • For it to be possible to enable compression on the destination, the pool configuration must support compression.
  • For more details about compression, refer to the Unity Compression Overview document.
