How To Run Dell Grab On HP-UX

Instructions for running the grab on an HP-UX host.

Ensure that this is done with root account.

Download the grab utility from https://central.dell.com/solutions/GrabUnixLinux (requires a Dell account).

1. Create a directory for grab.
2. Change (CD) to the directory created in Step 1.
3. Put the grab utility in that directory.
4. Untar grab utility [tar  xvf emcgrab_HP-UX_v4.7.1.tar].
5. When it untars, it creates a directory inside that directory called grab.
6. Cd into the underlying grab directory (now you are in /grab/grab).
7. Do an ll or ls to see the packages, look for grab.sh.
8. After finding the gab.sh there, run [./emcgrab.sh] while inside that directory.
9. This runs the utility, usually takes 10 minutes or more to run, and creates a directory that is called outputs. The grab is copied automatically in there.
