PowerStoreOS Matrix

The Recommended Code is set at the third digit and is shown in bold. This is a highly trusted and recommended release that is evaluated against criteria including runtime time in the field, number of installations, quality metrics, and so on.

Long-Term Support (LTS) releases are stable software releases maintained with a regular cadence of updates up to 2 years to ensure application resilience for customers who seek a standard code line. More information about LTS Release Support.

PowerStore Q: Supported with PowerStoreOS 4.0 or higher, and follows the same guidelines as T models.
PowerStore X: PowerStoreOS 3.5 or higher is not supported.

PowerStoreOS supported upgrade paths

Some PowerStoreOS upgrades cannot be done directly and require intermediate upgrade steps. These tables describe the valid upgrade paths.

Note 1 - the only difference between version 2.0.0.0 builds 1371720 and 1376722 is a fix that is related to upgrades. Since this build is preinstalled on the system from factory, there is no exposure to the issues fixed in 1376722.

Note 2 - PowerStore clusters already running PowerStoreOS 2.0.0.0 builds 1371720 or 1376722 are not required to upgrade to PowerStoreOS 2.0.0.0 build 1397847.

Note 3 - Clusters with attached SAS Expansion Enclosures should be upgraded to a release that contains improvements for this issue. See knowledge base article 000203131.

Note 4 - PowerStore clusters with NVMe Expansion Enclosures containing 10 or more NVMe SSDs are blocked from upgrading to PowerStoreOS 3.5.0.x. The Pre-Upgrade Health Check enforces this policy.

Note 5 - Systems using Support Connectivity (SupportAssist) with Connect Directly should be upgraded to PowerStoreOS 3.6.1.0 (or later).
Important: PowerStore clusters with this configuration must upgrade to PowerStoreOS 3.6.1.0 or higher by December 2024 to maintain connectivity.

Note 6 - This release is a manufacturing only build and is not available for download. It is functionally identical to the web posted version 4.0.0.0-2284811, and only contains a minor change required to accommodate manufacturing test flows.

Note 7 - Systems on PowerStoreOS 3.0.x or 3.2.x intending to upgrade directly to 4.x, see knowledge base article 000228564.

Note 8 - Clusters with three or more appliances intending to upgrade to PowerStoreOS 4.1, see knowledge base article 000286668.
