OMIVV Log Basics
- Called a Troubleshooting Bundle
- Governs all the tasks the Appliance is responsible for
- Most OMIVV, VCenter, and ESXI host interactions are on s
pectre_VCenter_app.log - The
spectre_VCenter_app.logrotates and retains a historical chain of 20 logs
Export a Troubleshooting Bundle.
- Connect to OMIVV Admin Console
- Browse Appliance Management Tab
- Select Generate Troubleshooting Bundle

- Once generated there is a Download option
VCenter Logs:
VCenter Log basics
- OMIVV and Vcenter plug-in interactions are logged on vsphere_client_virgo logs
- The relevant Log location differs depending on which version of Vcenter is being used
- Useful often and recommended pulling if VCenter could be a part of the issue

VMware Host Logs:
ESXi Log basics
- Called a VMSupport bundle
- Useful where only one device does not work or is not reporting correctly
- Often only a DRAC TSR is needed for these scenarios
How to collect a VMSupport bundle.
- Inside the VCentered Web Client, find the Host you want logs from
- Now Select the Actions drop down, and choose Export System Logs
- Default choices are fine for the export
- Finish and start download when you select Export Logs
- If there are any registration issues, include VCSA logs in addition to ESXI host logs.
