症狀
Virtual Storage Integrator (VSI) is a solution from Dell to integrate storage with vSphere. VSI 8.4 adds functionality for PowerStore storage arrays.
Dell Technologies: VSI for VMware vSphere Web Client
When you use VSI to create a VMFS or vVol datastore in vSphere, you can get a situation where the process completes successfully, the volume is created on the PowerStore, but no volume is seen in vSphere.
You can identify the issue in PowerStore Manager or in the logs.

In this case, you can see that the volume was created and prepended with a prefix of VMFS_. The problem is observed in the "Host Mappings" column. You can see that the datastore/volume is not mapped to any hosts.
原因
VSI has created the volume, but it has failed to map the volume.
解析度
This issue is resolved in VSI 8.5. The recommendation is to upgrade to this version or higher.
其他資訊
If needed, there are two possible workarounds for this issue:
- The first possibility is to not use the "host group" functionality of PowerStore with the "create datastore" feature of VSI.
VSI does not handle host groups properly in version 8.4.
PowerStore does not allow mapping a volume to a host that is part of a host group without mapping it to all members of the host group.
- Manually correct the host mappings.
After using VSI to create a datastore, you can correct the mappings in PowerStore Manager from Storage > Volumes (VMFS) or Storage > Storage Containers (vVols), and find the affected volume.
Click the zero in the Host Mappings column (pictured above). Manually map, by pressing the + MAP button to the host group and press APPLY.
