This article is intended to walk you through pairing a Dell Bluetooth enabled computer to a external Bluetooth device in addition to providing basic troubleshooting assistance.

On the Desktop screen, click the Show hidden icons arrow to show any hidden icons (located in the lower-right corner of the screen).
Locate the Bluetooth icon . Compare the status to Table 1.

Enabled - The Bluetooth adapter is ready to pair with another Bluetooth device. | |
Connected - The Bluetooth adapter is already connected to a Bluetooth device (if the desired device is not the one its connected to, it will have to be re-paired). |

Make sure the following conditions have been met:
Right-click the Bluetooth icon in the lower-right corner of the computer screen.
Click Add a Bluetooth Device.
Put the Bluetooth device in discovery mode. Discovery mode allows the device to be found by your computer and is usually, but not always indicated by a blinking blue LED on the device (refer to your Bluetooth device owner's manual for additional instructions).
For a Dell branded Bluetooth device, click below to learn how to put it in discovery mode. Then proceed to step 7.
Starting with the Bluetooth device off, press the power switch located on the bottom of the keyboard.
Find and press the button located underneath the keyboard on the upper-left side.
The Bluetooth LED on the top of the keyboard blinks when it is in discovery mode and is off when the keyboard is not in discovery mode.
Starting with the Bluetooth device off, press the power switch located on the bottom of the mouse.
Find and press the button located on the bottom of the mouse in the upper-right corner.
The Bluetooth LED on the top of the mouse blinks when in discovery mode and is off when not in discovery mode.
Starting with the Bluetooth device off, press the power switch located on the bottom of the mouse.
Find and press the connect button located underneath the keyboard on the upper-left side.
The Bluetooth LED on the top of the mouse blinks when it is in discovery mode and is off when not in discovery mode.
Starting with the Bluetooth device off, press the power switch located on the headset.
Press and hold the play/pause center button on the right ear piece until the blue LED starts blinking. This usually takes about 8 seconds.
Starting with the Bluetooth device off, press the power button located on the end of the speaker.
Find and press the Bluetooth button located below the power button for two seconds.
The Bluetooth LED will blink white to indicate that the device is in discovery mode.
Press the power button for two seconds.
The power-status light blinks blue to indicate that the device is in discovery mode.
Click to highlight the the desired device, then click Next.
You may be requested to input the passkey found in the documentation of your Bluetooth device, if so input the passkey, then click Next.
The wizard pairs the two devices together and completes, click Close.
