Logs 

Logs note and capture information about how a device is running. Collecting logs to analyze, troubleshoot and debug any issues that may be encountered can highlight both the reasons for device behavior and the appropriate solution. Full instructions for collecting VRTX Switch R1-2210 and R1-2401 logs can be found in this article.
 

Capture

To obtain the logs from the R1-2210 or R1-2401 VRTX Switch, the saved output from an SSH connection to the switch is required. PuTTY is an SSH and telnet client used to directly access the Switch in order to perform the procedures below. Follow the procedures below:
  1. After opening PuTTY, go to the Session tab. In the Logging tab, select All session output and browse for a destination of that log file.

  2. Insert the IP (or Host Name) of the Management from the affected Switch and choose Telnet as connection type. Click Open.

  3. Log in to the Switch console
    Login as - root
    Standard User Name - root
    Standard Password - calvin

  4. Here you should see the type of the Switch as root source.
    Type show tech-support and press Enter. (Do not copy-paste the command, type it in manually)

  5. The output can take some time to generate. After the prompt is shown again, type exit to leave the SSH session.

  6. The output file is available at the location previously selected.

    The file can be read with a text editor like Notepad++ or similar editors to check the general health of the Switch.
