Your Inspiron 5505 supports one of the following storage configurations:
One solid-state drive (M.2 2230 or M.2 2280 )
A combination of two M.2 solid-state drives of the following form factors 2230/2280
The primary drive of your Inspiron 5505 varies with the storage configuration. For computers with an M.2 solid-state drive, the M.2 solid-state drive is the primary drive.
NOTE If there is only one solid-state drive in the configuration you ordered, you can install another solid-state drive in the other M.2 slot. However, you may need a solid-state drive bracket (sold separately; please contact Dell support) to install the additional solid-state drive.
